Week 6 -- all over Nevada

Hey, team! Another week has gone by and we are walking up a storm. I’ve been sort of down this week, so sorry about the lateness of our update.

Steps

Because of some competition between unnamed participants, our steps were way up this week. We had 401,923 steps, which is 161 miles. Woo hoo.

Top Walkers

Competition this week was fierce, but the top walker is Dad, with 67,553 steps, next is Mom with 67,091 steps, and then Cassidy, with 50,288 steps. The rest of us have room to step it up a little!

Where are we now?

As you recall, last time we were 16 miles past Middlegate, Nevada. Here’s were we went this week:

We walked 24 miles to Ione, Nevada, yet another ghost/mining town. Not much to see, but we saw it. We stopped here and poured a cold one down. A cold root beer, of course!

We walked 44 miles to South Twin Campground in the Toiyabe National Forest (in NV). We saw some gorgeous views while there.

We then walked 36 miles to another campground – Pine Creek campground (also in NV) in the Toquima range within the Toiyabe Ntnl Forest. I guess we’re camping a lot…

THEN, we walked 44 miles to Moore’s Station, which is – BIG SURPRISE – another ghost town in Nevada.

We hung around for a minute (not long, because there’s nothing there!), and then walked 13 miles toward Duckwater, Nevada. We’ll be there next week.
